Egypt, South Ronaldsay, Orkney

Egypt from a distance

I know there is more to come as a reflection of this little place but here is the review of the house where we have been staying. - i put it on Trip Advisor.

I could wax lyrical about the bay, the inquisitive cows in the fields and the spectacular sunsets but it is the exceptional house which ensured our wonderful stay in Orkney. The house, unusually called Egypt, was spotless. The welcome pack of food and drink was generous and MOST WELCOME.

Three of us (friends) stayed and I have to say that this house would also be perfect for couples or families. The beds are all comfortable with thick duvets and good pillows. This large house is surprisingly warm. We never felt the winds of Orkney from inside and we didn't even need to light the large wood-burner either! There is a good washing machine and a good dishwasher. Plenty of pots, pans, crockery, mixing bowls etc, a very good stove and a three section oven. The quality of the modern bathrooms included great showers and a bath, luxuriously deep and long.

The TVs are modern, a good size and easy to use. Fast WIFI is included and the many living areas are great for entertaining or to simply enjoy in solitary thought.

For the quality we found the price to be very, very reasonable. We stayed in Egypt during June/July 2022.

As a holiday location, whether as a base to visit the many exciting attractions Orkney has to offer or to enjoy a quiet retreat, Egypt is perfect for both purposes.

Stay here. Relax here. Spend time with Orcadians here. Create beautiful memories here.

A sincere thank you to the owners. I wish to return to Orkney and can only envisage staying here again.
